Overview

The My Settings page allows users to personalize their experience in DvSum. Users can configure interface preferences, date and time display settings, chat preferences, and API credentials. These settings are applied at the user level and affect only the logged-in user's experience.

This article explains how to configure the Enable Description and Time Zone settings.

Accessing My Settings

  1. Log in to DvSum.
  2. Click the Profile menu.
  3. Select My Settings.
  4. Open the General tab.

Enable Description

The Enable Description option controls whether descriptive helper text is displayed throughout the application.

When enabled, additional explanatory information is shown for input fields and controls, making it easier to understand their purpose. When disabled, these descriptions are hidden, providing a cleaner interface while retaining the same functionality.

To configure this setting:

  1. Navigate to My Settings > General.
  2. Select or clear the Enable Description checkbox.
  3. Click Save.

Note: This setting affects only the current user's interface and does not impact other users.

Time Zone Preferences

The Date & Time section allows users to customize how dates and timestamps are displayed throughout the application.

Configure the Time Zone

  1. Under Time Zone, select one of the following:
    • Set time zone automatically using your current location.
    • Clear the checkbox and select a time zone from the dropdown list.
  2. Click Save.

Configure Date and Time Format

  1. Under Preferred Date & Time Format, select one of the following:
    • Set time and date automatically.
    • Clear the checkbox and choose the preferred Date Format and Time Format from the available dropdown lists.
  2. Click Save.

Application-wide Impact

The selected time zone and date/time format are reflected throughout the application, including:

  • Asset listing pages
  • Asset detail pages
  • Jobs and execution history
  • Workflow execution details
  • Grid views
  • Anywhere dates and timestamps are displayed

Note: By default, DvSum automatically detects the current time zone and date/time format. These settings can be overridden by selecting custom preferences.
